The Legion of Honor, Part II

The Legion of Honor is an awesome museum, I highly recommend it, is gret even when you are not into art like me. There were couple expositions of paintings and newspapers from France, I think they'll be over until next month, so if you can go and take a look.

The first thing that you'll see, that meets you in the center of the museum, is an statue of a guy, who of course is naked, (you have to be naked or showing an intimate part of your body to become something artistic) The statue is black, glossy black, pretty cool. We started to watch the rigth side of the museum, that part mainly contained catholic paintings, and a couple of Jesus christ. I was rushing taking pictures, and moving quick around the museum. I didn't even have time to pay attentiong to all the statues, paintings that were really intense. The left side of the museum has an exposition of some mummy. Is pretty cool, you get to see the real mummy and a model of the skull of the mummy showing the reason why he died and so on.

We spent at least an hour and thirty minutes, and through all that time Laura and I walked with a headache. Another reason why I couldn't appreciate more of the things in the museum. We walked out kind of happy that we finally were going home, that alleviated our headache and on top of that the tasty sandwich that we ate also helped. After having part of our digestion done, we walked through the fog. I was tired, my feet hurt and that night I had to work.

The museum was a great experience, and writing about the things that I saw and the ones that impacted me, helped me to find a side of me that I wasn't aware of; that I do like art, specially the type of art that is controversial, unique and the exception to the rule.
In the same way, I really like the pictures that I took. I got some really nice shots, I love my fish eye lense, it has an unique effect which helps you see the world of the picture in a different way.
Our way back wasn't any different, except that we felt the bus ride much more shorter and comfortable.

Trip to the "Legion of Honor" Museum Part I

I love photography, and I love it even more when its combine with cars. In the begining of this semester I decided to take a digital photography class. I was excited about the class because it also involved playing/working with photoshop. But all my excitement changed because the photoshops sessions are just too boring and long, and I have to add that there are quite a few students in the class who don't even know how to use a computer-won't reveal, ages, or gender.

The class, in which I'm in requires a lot of dedication, like the rest of any college class, but this one demands me to move around a lot. And since I'm carless it's hard for me to move around to nice locations and snap some good shots. Transportation is being an issue, and with that said, I remember when the teacher said that we were going to a field trip, and that we needed to figure out the way to get there. Indeed I did, yet I should've chosen the people with whom I carpool'ed with the day of the field trip carefully. We got lost, and never got to our destination.

That day I knew that I needed to hit a local museum by myself, and had to be quick since my paper was due in 3 days. I knew of couple local museums. Not so local, they are in the city. I had two options, The Young Museum, and The Legion of Honor. I decided to go for the last one. I remember that my friend Carlos Almendarez had visited The Legion of Honor, and God I loved the pictures that he took of the outside and the art in the inside.
On the night before going to what was going to be a nice trip, I decided to text my partner in crime Laura to see if she wanted to go with me, and luckily me she agreed. Laura took care of finding our way to the museum and food.

The following day we met at the local transit center, saw a couple unique/epic things, like a car going wrong way in a street that is 4 lanes wide with full traffic coming on his way. That guy failed.
Anyways, we both were looking forward to having a nice day, even though both had headaches.
We took a total of six buses, 3 to get to the museum and 3 on our way back. One of the buses smelled like shit, human feces, whatever you want to call it. I realized the huge contrast between the Marin County buses and the S.F. buses. People in S.F. just don't give a fuck, in every single thing.
The temperature drastically change as well, I think that made our headaches even worse. I had no idea on which bus to take, I just knew on which cardinal point we needed to go; on the other hand Laura was a pro about the bus situation, we even got to save around $6 thanks to her urban skills.
After we got off the last bus, which took us to our destination, we walked around 3 blocks. On that portion of our trip there we walked for a while behind a guy who was smoking weed. That is another factor that made our headaches get worse. Three blocks after, one huge hill and 10 minutes later we had arrived to our destination.
The museum has a high quality architecture, with out mentioning the attention to detail and art that is in it. I took so many pictures of the outside. It was so nice, too bad the fog was too heavy. Otherwise I would had enjoyed it even more.
This are just some pics of the outside. The rest will come with the second part of the trip.

-N1 Concepts Sale x WeKsos Day Fail-Part II

So here's the second part of that epic day. After some of my friends saw the previous post, they said that I have too much spare time, and that I need to get a car ASAP.
Looking forward to get a car, but won't leave the posting.

So here's where we went to weksos, I think I mentioned part of it in the last post, but I rushed through it since I was falling asleep and needed to review some chemistry staff. So for some of you who don't know what Weksos is, here's a brief info about it.
Weksos Industries sells automotive performance products for Japanese cars, especially hondas. They are the retail for many aftermarket companies like Spoon, Mugen, Vision, J's Racing, BYS, Apexi, and so many more. So if you have a honda and want to get some nice parts for it hit them up, either Kenneth, James, or Adam will answer, these guys all have hondas, and clean ones.

Anyways, so we took off with a huge disappointment that N1 didn't have anything for Irvin, or Edson. We were heading to Weksos to get the ASR subframe brace and some LCAs for Irvin's coupe, which is already sitting on some new F1's type II. Car has a nice stance, yet is missing something so it can look perfect.
This time I drove with Irvin, apparently this guy listens to some metal, he didn't even told twice when I played some of my music, old punk, and some metallica of course.
Down the way I snapped some pics of Edson's halo EG. Once we got to Weksos, the first thing that we noticed was Adam's integra, a really nice integra, so simple yet so sexy.
Once in the store, Tarci started taking pictures of the whole store, and every single thing that was in there. I think the guys at Weksos even expected an interview from him, and maybe thought that he and I were from some ghetto newspaper or something like that, exclude this blog.
After some minutes of hesitation Irvin decided to talk and ask for parts. We looked and looked around the store, I fell in love with the limited edition steering wheel from Vertex. Once the transaction was over, we walked out, and again we all appreciated the black Integra. I still remember the cherry smell that the car had, and the windows were not opened to say that it was the air re-freshener, no, that even smelled good from the outside.
We hit the road again and headed to Edson's house to install the parts. Once there, we didn't lose anytime, we had some issues on putting the car in the air. I can't still believe how unsafe we were, looking at the pics you'll see what I mean. We were completely idiots and still we got under the car, except for Tarci and Edson's gf.
One of the bolts tried to give us a hard time, but it was just matter of seconds before Irvin got mad and beat the shit out of the bolt.
I remember we could hear Irvin under the car saying:
"ah motha fucka, who's your daddy now, ahh bitch, shiiiit !!!??"

Done with the yada yada and on with the pics...
P.S most of the pics on this post were taken by Tarci, there a couple that are mine.

Tarci took this picture. Yes this is me with Tarci's shades. According to Tarci I have the creeper look, and here I was creeping someone. I guess he's right since he's the pro at it.
Edson stretching, and trying to show off his muscles.

Picture that Tarci took.

I definetly took this picture. Irvin by himself spacing out looking like an STD prevention ad or "Use a Condom" campaign to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
Tarci's pic. N1's EG I saw this car last year at infineon running low 10s. Car is a beast.
Tarci's, interior shot of the rhd Scion box thingy.
Tarci's, Edson's EG-again.
Tarci's, Irvin's coupe, and Tarci's dream truck inthe back.
A really nice DA, sitting on Mugen MF8s. This car got a rhd conversion, has a wired tuck engine bay, rollbar. Clean overall. I'm in the background listening the owner saying how hard is to shift from first to second on a rhd car.

Yeeeaa boy!!!

I don't know why was I smiling there.

Me walking next to the clean teg that smelled like cherry.

Tarci's view of the coilover
Now on a Toda Cam Gear
Heading back home and Irvin driving next to a bmw, it looks that he's beating the shit out of the bimmer.
An hour later at Edson's place, of course I was rocking the NWP tee.

Car is about to flip, but don't worry we had everything under control.

Safety inspection, indeed was safe enough for the three of us to be under that car.

Epic picture of Tarci and I putting together the LCAs and the subframe brace.

How it was supposed to look.
So Tarci and I decided to txt our acquainteds to let them know we had put together the ASR with the LCA's
Irvin making sure it looked right.
Left to Right: Irvin, Edson and I (thug life going shirtless) and Tarci being a creeper at its finest!

Me fighting with one bolt.
Random shot of Edson's rear suspension setup.
Me shaking the hand of the proud owner of a whole new suspension setup.
