Checkerd Sports' EG4

Some come and go for the hype, some lose sight of what their goal is because of the obstacles that come on their way. But this post is not about those who forget what their goal is, or just give up, this post is about Raul Ramirez and his EG4, legit rhd EG4. No, its not an EG6. No soonroof ok...because racecarrrr. 

It's been about two years since his car got feature in honda tuning.(feature) At the time the article came out, his car was down, but he was wrenching on a customer's EG. Which also got feature in honda tuning. I met Raul through NWP, where he was selling s2k push start buttons and at the time. Raul was a nice guy at the forum, then couple months later, I finally met him at the blox meet, he had a boot. Did I mention he's the owner of CheckerdSports?
CheckerdSports started also two years ago, they haven't done anything but quality parts. I'm lucky enough that I own a couple parts and have yet to buy the whole catalog. He also sells other brands like RCREW Racing, OMP Racing, Buddy Club, Status. You wont find silly parts like pink lug nuts, or jdm badges with shocker hands. His parts are functional. 

And his build is iconic indeed, but what makes his car and company more important, and relevant in nowadays honda community is his perseverance. He's not the type of guy who builds a car to get feature in a magazine and then sells it to drive an SUV. Yes Raul had owned quite a few cars, and nice cars, and if he had sold them is because he was looking for that special car. And I think he has found it. 
Somehow we became good friends with that guy, and we've attended couple track days together, well at least one full track day, the second one, I got to Laguna Seca really late. 

Anyways, back to his car, besides being right hand drive, its one of a kind. A lot of custom work, like a custom welded in cage, custom bumper support, custom engine bay work, and lots more. And yes his car does have or had a K20R, right now is down because apparently he's still building his backyard fence that got knock down couple storms ago. 
I need to visit that guy, he's always inviting me to go over but my retail life sucks, hopefully by the time I go he would still remember that he invited me. 

This pictures were taken back in September 2012 I believe, on our way from Laguna Seca. Like I mentioned before, I got to the track when everybody had left. And the only ones there were Raul with Antony, they were waiting for me. 
Can't wait for the day he will  come back with the EG, his car is iconic. Well known in the community, people might not know him or his company but they would recognize the car. It is a beast, listening to the 3in exhaust scream drive pass you is just an event. He's always using ear plugs haha.
